"Employment will increase, domestic investors will be drawn to the financial sector"

Istanbul Financial Center (IFC), which will make Istanbul one of the leading cities in the world in economy and finance, has opened its doors. Economist Assoc. Prof. Dr. Batuhan Tufaner stated that IFC is an opportunity for Turkey and said, "With the opening of the banks phase, various banks and financial institutions, both domestic and foreign, are expected to take place in the Istanbul Finance Center. This will increase employment in the financial sector. Additionally, it will contribute to attracting domestic investors to the financial sector."

The Istanbul Finance Center, which was completed under the ownership of the Turkey Wealth Fund and under the coordination of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, opened and entered into service. "With the opening of the banks phase, various banks and financial institutions, both domestic and foreign, are expected to take place in the Istanbul Finance Center," said Economist Assoc. Prof. Dr. Batuhan Tufaner, and added: "This will increase employment in the financial sector. Additionally, it will contribute to attracting domestic investors to the financial sector."

Underlining the fact that London and New York are among the world's largest financial centers, Assoc. Prof. Batuhan Tufaner from Istanbul Beykent University said, "In order to attract foreign investors to the Istanbul Financial Center, the center needs to compete with these major financial centers in the world. To make this possible, several criteria must be met. The first and foremost consideration of foreign financial institutions and investors when investing in a country is the element of trust. Additionally, the country's macroeconomic indicators are also crucial for financial markets. Foreign investment is an extremely significant factor for the economic growth of developing countries such as Turkey. If these two criteria are met, IFC will be an opportunity for the Turkish economy."
