Following the evaluations of the Istanbul Development Agency, the projects selected for support under the 2021 Entrepreneurship Financial Support Programme have been announced.

Our Technology Transfer Office became one of the 12 projects entitled to receive support from the International Entrepreneurship Centre: Istanbul Project. Within the scope of this project, infrastructure (such as entrepreneurship centres, incubators and accelerators, co-working spaces and technoparks), content providers (education, consultancy, mentoring services etc.), and actors (universities, local administrations, creatives of all sizes, entrepreneurs, mentors, consultants, managers, etc.) will come together within the framework of sustainability programme, aiming to support Istanbul in attaining its rightful place as entrepreneurial centre, first at the regional level, then on a global scale.

Entrepreneurship centres established in various districts of Istanbul will be opened to the use of international entrepreneurs, and multilingual programmes (English, Arabic, Persian, etc.) will be implemented. Within the framework of Türkiye’s regulations relating to entrepreneurship, guiding tools (videos, printed materials, and websites), and consultancy services (business services), mentoring, and facilitation mechanisms will be developed. An International Istanbul Innovation and Entrepreneurship Summit will be organised, and a content-producing promotion unit that publishes in multiple languages will be established to enhance Istanbul’s brand value as an international centre for entrepreneurship. In addition, easier integration into the entrepreneurship ecosystem will be provided to foreigners living in Turkey (international students, migrants, asylum-seekers, refugees) in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. As a result, it will be ensured that qualified people among the foreign community residing in our country who can step into technology and innovation-based entrepreneurship are discovered and included in the ecosystem.
