Rules and Conditions of Library Use During the Pandemic

  • The number of occupants allowed to enter and use the libraries has been limited and wearing masks is compulsory. Masks are not provided by the library; visitors are responsible for supplying their own.
  • Using disinfectant hand wash at the entrance to the libraries is mandatory.
  • The seating arrangements have been changed; tables with long dividers are limited to two persons; tables with short dividers limited to one person. Single person tables will primarily be in use in Hadımköy and Beylikdüzü libraries and group work will not be permitted.
  • The study room in the Hadımköy library will be closed during the pandemic.
  • The seating arrangement in libraries with computer study areas will be set according to social distancing regulations.
  • Routine counter and information desk work may be carried out according to the social distancing rule of 1.5m between individuals.
  • Return dates of any publications borrowed by users during the pandemic will be automatically extended until the resumption of on-campus education. During this period, late fines will be suspended. Students who come to campus for the purpose of graduating or withdrawal from enrolment are responsible for knowing what materials they have borrowed and haven’t returned to the library.Students who have not returned borrowed publications will not be permitted to graduate or withdraw from enrolment.
  • Libraries will be regularly cleaned, and ventilated on a daily basis.Users of the libraries will make way for personnel to carry out these duties.
  • Discarded masks and gloves must be thrown into the medical waste container.
