Call for Applications: KUTUP (Polar) 1001 Project

In order to support R&D and scientific research activities related to the Priority Research Themes determined within the National Polar Science Programme, the KUTUP 1001-2021 Call was opened on 17 May 2021 under the conditions set by TÜBİTAK MAM KARE and ARDEB. The deadline for the online application and the e-signature process is set for 2 July 2021 at 23:59.

Due to the pandemic, the Arctic Expedition (TASE) will not be carried out in 2021. Accordingly, support will be provided for projects that are not related to the Arctic expedition.

Within the scope of the National Polar Science Program and with the aim of developing R&D and scientific research activities, polar projects that can be carried out either independently of the Arctic expedition or by participating, or not participating, in the expedition planned by our country to the Antarctic continent will be supported. For projects not participating in the expedition; sampling, data collection, and measurements in the expedition area will not be conducted by third parties.

For 2021, the maximum funding limit for KUTUP 1001 projects is 200,000 (two hundred thousand) TRY, excluding the Project Incentive Bonus (PTI), without any annual budget restriction. Within the scope of KUTUP 1001, the Project Incentive Bonus (PTI) limit is 25,000 TRY, and no institution share will be paid.

Researchers who hold a PhD, Doctor of Fine Arts, or residency in medicine, dentistry, pharmacy or veterinary medicine and who are full-time tenured staff members (excluding retirees) at the institution where the project will be conducted (higher education institutions, public institutions, or private organisations) can apply for the project.

The project duration is a maximum 24 months. Extension requests will not be accepted.
