"Umut" Theatre Play

In the play, which tells the struggle of the character named Umut with drugs and the struggle of the psychiatrist to save him, the addiction is analysed from social, medical and psychological perspectives and the things to be done for drug addicted individuals are put forward. In this way, the conflict between the person using drugs and the society, the mistakes of the person and the society are depicted, and the audience is tried to raise awareness about the measures that can be taken before this problem arises and to prevent the person before starting to use drugs.

ON THE CONFLICT BETWEEN SOCIETY AND PERSON IN THE FIGHT AGAINST DRUG ABUSE

Drug abuse is always undesirable in society and has tragic consequences. A lot of factors make it easier to increase usage. It is the duty of those in authority to combat these factors. Individuals and society need to fulfil their responsibilities adequately, such as recognising the issue, taking precautions and intervening in the right way. A suitable way to do this is to convey to the individual and society in the right way that drug use is a mistake, that it can lead to tragic consequences, that this dangerous, terrible and tragic situation can happen to all of us. This study explains the ways of making this conveyance in a correct, different and effective way, mainly by making use of drama, performance and theatre arts.

• In the use of drugs, issues such as for the purpose of giving pleasure and getting rid of negative emotions, out of curiosity, as a result of peer pressure and being forced to use drugs are included as sub-topics within the aforementioned topics.

• In the play, various fields such as literature, debate, statistics, etc. are also used, but since these are things that already exist in human life, and since they will be involved in the study " in any case ", it is not necessary to specifically state that these and similar fields other than the main elements listed above have been "used".

• The play has been assisted by scientific methods and progressed with scientific methods or does not contain any misleading guidance contrary to science. However, many branches of art have also been used.

As a result, this work is a theatre play created and implemented by individuals who want to create a well-prepared, correct, appropriate, effective counter-initiative (Awareness) against the suffering caused by drugs.
