What are the career options for the graduates of Biomedical Engineering?

Biomedical Engineers can work as engineers responsible for operation, repair and maintenance of medical devices in both public and private hospitals. They can also be employed for a wide range of activities including:

  • Design and production of medical tools and devices such as cardiac pacemakers, artificial organs, and dialysis machines in the private sector, and R&D businesses in particular,
  • Design and installation of electronic and computer systems to monitor the patients during surgery and intensive care,
  • Design and production of the blood analysis sensors,
  • Design and realisation of specialist systems and artificial intelligence systems to help the decision-making processes in clinical studies,
  • Design and production of medical imaging systems such as ultrasound, magnetic resonance, X-ray, angiography, etc., and
  • Development of mathematical and computer models for numerical analysis of physiological systems such as circulatory, digestive, respiratory, nervous, etc.
