You can obtain your compulsory health insurance in two ways:

1) Social Security Institution (SSI), agreement countries and health insurance: Turkey has a Social Security Agreement with some countries. The content of the SSI agreements may vary according to the countries. Students can benefit from health insurance in the agreement countries that they visit during their education period without any cuts from their SSI rights. Students must receive a document from SSI which has a different country codes. For agreement countries, click here. (Please contact to SSI to learn whether SSI agreements with these countries cover health insurance.).

Please contact with SSI office you are registered to learn the steps you need to take to benefit from health insurance.

2) Private Health Insurance

If the receiving country is not a party to the Social Security Agreement, you are required to purchase health insurance covering the period of stay and your health expenses in the country you will visit. You must submit a copy of your insurance policy to the Erasmus Office.
